ALOHA and welcome to USDA Rural Development! Administered from 14 offices
throughout the region, we are dedicated to serving rural Hawaii, American Samoa and the Western Pacific.
We cover approximately 4.5 million square miles in the Pacific Ocean with a diversity of cultures and languages
including three Foreign Countries, two U.S. Territories, a Commonwealth, and three American Embassies.
Despite the vast diversity of our region, some things are constant.
Regardless of location, rural areas need the
same things to be successful. Residents need affordable homes and essential community facilities.
Workers need good jobs and businesses need economic opportunities to compete and expand.
Communities need dependable water and utility services, along with improved
infrastructure support. To prosper, rural communities require strong
coalitions and strategic partnerships to prosper. At
USDA Rural Development we can help rural communities achieve these goals.
I look forward to the many opportunities that are available to rural Hawaii, American Samoa and the Western Pacific
(includes Guam, Common Wealth of the Marianas Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, and the Marshall Islands). I promise that
Rural Development will continue to aggressively commit our resources to serve these areas and its rural citizens.
