One of the most exciting opportunities to support innovation in rural America is through projects that support biofuels and renewable energy. USDA Rural Development has a strong track record of assisting with the growth of renewable fuels industries in Iowa.

Since 2001, USDA Rural Development in Iowa has invested $57.9 million to help support more than 30 biofuels businesses around the state.

Another $126 million has been awarded to help hundreds of Iowa producers and small businesses with projects that helped create renewable energy or make energy-efficient updates to the farms and businesses.
