Welcome
Message from Idaho State Director
Thank you for visiting us at the Idaho USDA Rural Development Website.
The last few years have been an extraordinary time for America. Businesses watched their banks close and their lines of credit transfer to new servicing banks, home buyers found credit hard to come by, and communities found their tax base shrinking as property values declined. All while the economic environment increased the need for services like reliable broadband for continuing education and pursuing employment opportunities.
During this time, Rural Development programs proved to be phenomenal in providing access to capital in Rural Idaho. Our investments in rural communities put people to work immediately, and by purchasing goods and services locally wherever possible, Rural Development stimulated additional growth. These investments in infrastructure, business development, education, and healthcare are also laying the foundation for the long term health of rural communities.
We want to thank our private, nonprofit, and government partners who
participate with us in projects funded with USDA Rural Development dollars.
You are key to us being able to serve our Idaho rural towns and communities,
where our collaborative dollars are making a
difference by providing thousands of families with housing, repairing and
replacing failing sewer and water systems, and investing in local businesses
to create jobs and strengthen economic well-being.
We are pleased to be at the forefront of the effort to promote the creation of “green” jobs by assisting small businesses or agriculture producers with energy efficiency improvements or renewable
energy projects.
It is an honor to be appointed to lead the great team of Idaho Rural Development employees who work everyday in partnership with federal, state, tribal, and local government officials, as well as the private sector, to make certain our financial resources are invested wisely and have the greatest impact on improving the quality of life in the rural areas of our state.
We are committed to the future of your community. Please
look carefully at each of programs to see what we have to offer.
When you're ready to learn more, please give us a call by contacting
the USDA Rural Development office nearest you, where our friendly
staff of experts are ready to assist you.
Thank You
Wally
