Community Facilities programs provide loans, grants and loan guarantees to eligible applicants to develop essential community facilities for public use in rural areas. These facilities may include hospitals, fire protection, public safety, libraries, schools and day care centers, as well as other community-based projects and initiatives. In Action

Latham Centers, Inc. is a private non-profit agency located in Brewster Massachusetts. Their mission is to assist individuals who are behaviorally and developmentally challenged to achieve their potential as responsible members of the community. Rural Development is proud to assist with the addition of a 4,820 square foot dormitory financed by $ 2,078,000 in direct community facility loans. With this financial assistance, Latham Centers will be able to adequately provide for their growing Student base.
