Multi-Family Housing Programs provide affordable multi-family rental housing for low and very low income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.

In addition, subsidy rental assistance is available to eligible families. Furthermore, there are programs to address Farm Labor Housing and programs to collaborate with Non-Profits and Community Development Corporations.

Multi-Family 515 Direct Program:

This program enables a wide variety of owners to participate in the development of affordable rental housing in rural areas. Loans can be made to individuals, trusts, associations, partnerships, State or local public agencies, consumer cooperatives, and other profit or non-profit corporations. More Information

The Rural Rental Assistance Program (RA) provides an additional source of support for households with incomes too low to pay the subsidized (basic) rent from their own resources. More Information

The Farm Labor Housing Loan and Grant Programs provide capital financing for the development of housing for domestic farm laborers. More Information

Multi-Family 538 Guaranteed Loan Program:

The Rural Development 538 Program offers participating lenders a USDA backed Guarantee to finance the development of multi-family housing to include construction, acquisition, and rehabilitation of rural multi-family housing. More Information

Multi-Family 533 Housing Preservation Grants:

The Housing Preservation Grant Program (HPG) provides grants to sponsoring organizations for the repair and rehabilitation of low and very low income housing. More Information
