Inc. Celebrate New Homeowners

New Homeowners in South Paris
USDA Rural Development and Community
Concepts, Inc. visited six families in South Paris who utilized the
Self-Help Housing Program to build their own homes. The new homeowners
were given plants they can grow in their own yards.
Community Concepts, Inc. received their
first grant from USDA Rural Development in 1992. To date approximately 115
families have built their own homes through the Self-Help Housing Program.
This totals $1.17 million invested in Self-Help homeownership by USDA
Rural Development for Maine’s rural residents.

Newport Water District
held an Open House to celebrate clean water. USDA Rural Development
presented Newport Water District with a Big Check for $5.1 million. The
Big Check represents the investment Rural Development has made in the
