Do You Have a DUNS Number?
All Rural Development grant and guaranteed loan applicants, must
have a Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) Data Universal Numbering Systems
number (DUNS number) when applying. If you already have a DUNS
number, you don't need to get a new one.
To obtain this number, call D&B Federal Registration Department
toll-free at 1-866-705-5711 and ask for a DUNS number. It free and
takes only five minutes. A D&B agent will ask for some basic
information and then assign you a DUNS number over the phone. Do not
be mislead by D&B's Web site or order the number online, or you may
be charged!

requirement:
Are you registered on the Central Contractor Registration
(CCR)?
All Rural Development grant applicants, except individuals &
informal steering committees, must be registered in the Central
Contractor Registration (CCR). CCR registration is a requirement for
virtually all parties seeking Federal financial assistance, not just
government contractors.
In order to register, you will first need a DUNS number (see above).
To complete a CCR registration, go to
http://www.ccr.gov, create an account (ID and password), and
provide the required information (including DUNS#, Tax ID#,
statistical information about your business, and Electronic Funds
Transfer Information for payments). It takes 1-3 days for CCR
registration to take effect, so please do not put this off. If you
are already registered in CCR, be sure your information is current
and accurate. If you receive a Rural Development award, you must
keep your CCR information current, updating it at least annually,
until your award project is complete.
New! SAM - System for Award
Management
A new system for award management will be replacing our central
contractor registration CCR.gov. Award recipients of USDA, Rural
Development are encouraged to review the new
(WWW.SAM.GOV) system. Once
SAM.GOV goes live you will need to create a new SAM user ID and
password per the
Quick Start Guide for Grants Registrations.
This new system will create a more efficient integration and
consolidation in Award Management.
