Section 9007  Rural Energy for America Program (REAP)

Formerly known as Section 9006 Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Improvements Program

Energy Audit and Renewable Energy Development Assistance


Provides funding for the purpose of providing energy audits and renewable energy development assistance for agricultural producers and rural small businesses.

Ø     Annual funding published in the federal register.

 
 
Type of assistance offered is:
     Grant
 
Eligible applicants include:

         a unit of state, tribal, or local government

           a land-grant college, a university, or an other institution of higher education

     a rural electric cooperative

    a public power district

    an instrumentality of a state, tribal or local government (i.e. RC&D, water district)

 

It is required that the ag producer or rural small business pays at least twenty-five percent (25%) of the cost of the audit.
