Biorefinery Assistance Program

Provides financial assistance, in the form of loan guarantees, for the development and construction of commercial-scale biorefineries and for the retrofitting of existing facilities using eligible technology for the development of advanced biofuels.

Terms and Conditions:

• The program was created in the 2008 Farm Bill (Federal Catalog Number 10.865).

• Provides loan guarantees for the development, construction and retrofitting of commercial scale biorefineries that produce advanced biofuel.  Refinancing debt is eligible under certain conditions.

• Maximum loan is $250 million.

• Upcoming application deadlines will be published in the Federal Register.
