New Jersey State Director PhotoWelcome to the USDA New Jersey Rural Development web page. Our team here in the Garden State takes great pride in helping the communities and people we serve as we deliver economic development and housing resources throughout the rural areas in New Jersey. We have over 40 loan and grant programs available, ranging from business opportunities, home ownership, rental housing, public safety, infrastructure, broadband and distance learning technology, value-added agriculture, energy related projects, and more. We work hard every day to fulfill our mission of increasing economic opportunity and improving the quality of life for all rural Americans.

In Fiscal Year 2009, New Jersey USDA Rural Development invested over $140 million in our multi-family and single family housing programs. We provided financing to over 750 new homeowners, allowing them to obtain the dream of homeownership. We also provided over $30 million in loan, grant, and loan guarantee assistance for community facilities, water and waste disposal, renewable energy, and value-added agriculture.

New Jersey's small towns and rural areas face many difficult challenges but also dramatic new opportunities. We are committed to work with rural communities and business leaders in our great state to meet those challenges and seize the opportunities. Our aggressive partnering with public and private sector organizations, non-profits, as well as civic leaders will allow us to leverage more resources for our rural residents and communities to access.

We have the financial resources that can build a community from the ground up. We encourage you to spend a few minutes to learn more about our programs and how we may better serve you and your community. Please do not hesitate to contact any of our New Jersey offices listed on this site to see how we can help your community become a better place to live and work.
