ARRA FUNDS WILL SERVE DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED INDIVIDUALS IN ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO
, May 01, 2010 --

OUTLINE OF NEED: St. Francois County Board for the Developmentally Disabled is a political subdivision which is enabled by the citizens of St. Francois County to provide and/or contract for services for individuals with mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities. The Board currently provides an array of services as well as contracts for services. The Board found they had outgrown their space and needed improvements to their sewer system.

HOW RURAL DEVELOPMENT HELPED: Rural Development partnered with New Era Bank to provide the funds for an addition to the existing administration building and upgrade of the facility’s sewer system. The funds consist of direct Community Facility funds and a guaranteed loan financed through the bank.

THE RESULTS: The St. Francois County Board for the Developmentally Disabled can continue to provide crucial services for individuals and organizations in the area in an updated and spacious facility. “This is a great partnership effort when everyone works together for a common goal of meeting the needs of a community. This project mirrors USDA Rural Development’s mission of being committed to the future of rural communities
