@@(November 17, 2010) In a ceremony on November 17, 2010, Anita J. (Janie) Dunning, Missouri State Director for USDA Rural Development, announced funding for the purchase and installation of a backup generator for the City of Weaubleau. The Rural Development Community Facility Disaster Grant of $13,500 will be leveraged with the City of Weaubleau’s $4,534 contribution to finance the total cost of $18,034.

“I’m pleased to hear that the City of Weaubleau is receiving crucial funds to purchase and install a backup generator for the community,” U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill said. “Providing the necessary resources to help a community during emergency situations is critical to the health and well-being of its citizens.”

“This is a great partnership effort when everyone works together for a common goal of providing an emergency backup generator for the community,” said Dunning. “This project mirrors USDA Rural Development’s mission of being committed to the future of rural communities. I want to personally thank everyone that has worked together to make this project a reality. Special thanks are extended to our federal elected officials for making available the federal funds for these kinds of projects.”
