Salem, MO, Nov 18, 2010 -- Anita J. Dunning, the Missouri State Director of USDA Rural Development, hosted a mock check presentation on November 18, 2010, at the Pulaski County Courthouse in Waynesville. Pulaski County requested $24,464 to fund a project through the Rural Business Enterprise Grant program to assist with funding of the engineering fees for the project.
“With the help of competitive grant funds from the USDA, Pulaski County will be able to make vital repairs to Devil’s Elbow Bridge,” U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill said. “These much needed upgrades will ensure that this historic bridge is restored to full operation, furthering the safety of drivers.”
Dunning, said “Assisting with the funding of professional fees like the Devil’s Elbow Bridge mirrors President Obama’s initiatives for rural America and Rural Development’s commitment to the future of rural communities. Appreciation is also extended to our Federal elected officials for supporting USDA Rural Development. They have been strong proponents for the necessary funding for essential services for rural Missourians.”
