(JULY 13, 2010) SALINE COUNTY HEALTH FUND, INC. PURCHASES BUILDING WITH USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE

Saline County, MO, Jul 13, 2010 -- In a mock check ceremony on July 13, 2010, Anita J. (Janie) Dunning, Missouri State Director, USDA Rural Development announced that Saline Public Health Fund, Inc. has received a $1,450,000 loan from the USDA, Rural Development Community Facilities Program. Loan funds will be used to purchase an existing building facility which will be leased to the Saline County Health Department for the delivery of healthcare services to County residents. The loan is financed for 40 years at 4.25% interest. The County Health Department serves 23,756 residents of Saline County, Missouri.

“In rural Missouri, it is essential that quality medical services remain accessible to communities large and small. Since this loan will facilitate the Saline County Health Department’s plans to do just that, I am pleased to support it,” stated U.S. Representative Ike Skelton.

“This is a great partnership effort when everyone works together for a common goal of meeting the needs of a community in providing essential healthcare services,” said Dunning. “This project mirrors USDA Rural Development’s mission of being committed to the future of rural communities. I want to personally thank everyone that has worked together to make this project a reality. Special thanks are extended to our federal elected officials for making available the federal funds for these kinds of projects.”
