(OCTOBER 1, 2010) RURAL DEVELOPMENT AWARDS NEARLY $13 MILLION

Lincoln, Nebraska, Oct 01, 2010 --  USDA Rural Development has announced that Fillmore County Hospital and Rock County Hospital will receive loans and grants through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act totaling nearly $13 million.

“We are pleased that Rural Development in Nebraska can assist these hospitals with their needs,” said Nebraska State Director Maxine Moul, USDA Rural Development. “The funds will help bring enhanced services to the patients.”

Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva will utilize a $12.6 million loan to construct a new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) hospital with modern amenities and to purchase updated equipment.

Rock County Hospital of Bassett will use a $47,300 grant to purchase and install a new 150 kilowatt diesel powered generator. .

Funding was provided through the USDA Rural Development Community Facility Loan and Grant program.
