Fordland, MO, Feb 10, 2011 -- Rural Development recognized the City of Fordland with a certificate on Thursday, February 10, 2011. The City received a $400,000 loan for improvements to the wastewater system which serves the 684 residents.
“I am pleased to hear that the city of Fordland received a low-interest loan to upgrade its sewer system,” U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill said. “An up-to-date sewer system is important to the health and well-being of the community.”
Mayor Paul Farnsworth stated, “The city would like to thank Rural Development for the financial assistance. Wastewater systems are critical to maintaining a healthy and growing community. We have made a step towards future growth and economic development for the residents of Fordland thanks to everyone’s hard work and support.”
