(FEBRUARY 17, 2011) USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROVIDES LOAN AND GRANT FUNDS TO THE VILLAGE OF SUNRISE BEACH
Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Feb 17, 2011 --

@@During a ceremony at the City Hall on February 17, 2011, Janie Dunning, USDA Rural Development Missouri State Director presented a Certificate of Congratulations to the Village of Sunrise Beach. The village has received funds consisting of a loan for $2,895,000 and grant for $2,261,000 from USDA Rural Development’s Water and Wastewater Program. The funds will be used to drill an additional 1000-foot well, install chlorination, construct an additional 186,000 gallon standpipe, and install 12 miles of water distribution lines to serve 243 users in Sunrise Beach. The village of Sunrise Beach has a population of 368.

“With the help of a low-interest loan and competitive grant funds, Sunrise Beach will be improving its water distribution infrastructure,” U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill said. “Ensuring citizens have access to safe and clean water is an important part of helping communities thrive.”

“This upgraded system is vital for the well-being of families and job creators in Sunrise Beach,” said U.S. Senator Roy Blunt. “These kinds of improvements not only benefit the families in this region, but improve the overall economic environment in order to encourage private sector job growth and continued economic development.”

“Access to a safe water distribution system is a fundamental necessity to each of us,” said Dunning. “This project mirrors USDA Rural Development’s mission and President Obama’s initiative of being committed to the future of rural communities. I want to personally thank everyone that has worked together to make this project a reality. I am pleased that so many rural households will benefit from having an adequate and dependable water supply. Special thanks are extended to our federal elected officials for making available the federal funds for funding this kind of project providing essential services to the residents of the village of Sunrise Beach.”
