(MARCH 1, 2011) RURAL DEVELOPMENT AWARDS NEARLY $5 THOUSAND TO THE VILLAGE OF GUIDE ROCK

Kearney, Nebraska, Mar 01, 2011 -- USDA Rural Development has announced that the Village of Guide Rock will receive a grant of $5,100 that leveraged with $1,800 from the Village will purchase 15 new emergency pagers for the Village’s fire and rescue volunteers.

“This grant allows us to replace pagers that are 10 years old and have a very limited range. We are fortunate that we can keep up with new technology because of this funding,” said Village Clerk Cindy Sanders, Village of Guide Rock.

“USDA Rural Development is pleased to be involved with projects that improve the safety of residents in rural communities,” said Area Director Paul Bartlett, USDA Rural Development.
