North Platte, Nebraska, Mar 01, 2011 -- USDA Rural Development has announced that the Village of Wauneta will receive a grant of $5,800 that, leveraged with $11,025 from the Village, will make energy efficiency improvements to the Wauneta Public Library.
“The Wauneta Library does need updates, both for efficiency and accessibility reasons.
The Village and the Library do not have the funds needed to make all the necessary upgrades, therefore the grant funds are greatly appreciated,” Chairman Lloyd Sinner, Board of Trustees, Village of Wauneta.
The $16,825 in funds will be used to install energy efficient windows and doors and to increase lighting.
“We are happy to assist the Village with their library needs. With these energy efficiency upgrades, the library will be able to allocate their energy costs elsewhere in the library budget,” said Area Specialist Natalie Furrow, USDA Rural Development.
Funding was provided through the USDA Rural Development Community Facility Grant program through an Economic Impact Initiative Grant. For more information contact Natalie Furrow at (308) 534-2360 ext. 1129.
