Norfolk, Nebraska, Mar 04, 2011 -- USDA Rural Development has announced that the Village of Uehling will receive a loan of $742,000 and grant of $976,000 to construct a new land application lagoon system.
“Our sewer project is necessary in order to remain in compliance with Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality regulations. With the USDA Rural Development funding, we are able to keep costs affordable for our residents.” stated Board Chairperson Dan Dallman, Village of Uehling.
The $1.7 million project will construct a lagoon system consisting of three new lagoons, with a lift station and center pivot irrigation system for the land application.
“This sewer project will help improve the quality of life in rural Nebraska which is what USDA Rural Development does,” said Area Specialist Jolene Kasper, USDA Rural Development.
