|WILLISTON, ND, May 24, 2011
@@Trinity Health will be breaking ground today on a new 60,000 square foot specialty clinic in Williston. Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act), USDA Rural Development financed the project with a $5.5 million loan.
“Energy production has led to a growing population in the region and the new facility will provide better access to vital medical services,” said State Director Jasper Schneider, USDA Rural Development. “We are proud to partner with Trinity Health and Williston to move this project forward.”
The new facility will be a three-story medical office building that will replace two existing clinics – Trinity Community Clinic-Western Dakota and Trinity Regional Eyecare. The current facilities lack adequate space, handicap accessibility, and the capability to keep up with new technology. By consolidating the clinics into one centralized location, Trinity Health will be able to efficiently handle the increase in patient volume while providing better health care, lower costs and improved energy savings.
“With the help and support of USDA Rural Development and the Williston medical community, this state-of-the-art facility is becoming a reality,” said Trinity Health CEO John Kutch. “The new clinic will allow us to respond to the needs and expectations of the greater Williston community while reinvesting into the city of Williston.”
When completed, the clinic will meet the needs of an aging population as well as the demand for services due to increased activity in the oil industry. The clinic space will consist of offices, consultation space, and forty exam rooms with an additional area allocated for testing, nurse and technician work stations and general supplies. A retail vision center, radiology, laboratory services and special procedure rooms will also be included in the building.
The service area for the clinic includes a six county region for a population of over 52,000 people. The new clinic will be located on four acres of land at 16th Avenue West and 13th Street West. The total estimated project cost is $10,405,462 with Trinity Health providing the additional funds. The construction is estimated to be complete in the summer of 2012.
