USDA Rural Development Funded Assisted Living Facility Opens in Mars, PA
RoseCrest Assisted Living Residence provides state of the art care
MARS, May 12, 2011 – USDA Rural Development and Lutheran SeniorLife celebrated the dedication and open house of RoseCrest Assisted Living Facility today. Rural Development provided a $3 Million Community Facilities loan for the construction of the new facility that includes private suites, 24-hour care, an outdoor courtyard, resident-centered monitoring system, and an intimate dining area. RoseCrest is located at 1000 Graham Way in Mars, adjacent to St. John Specialty Care Center.
“USDA’s support for these projects reflects our commitment to ensuring that rural communities can create jobs, attract businesses and provide necessary services to their residents,” said Thomas Williams, Rural Development State Director. “USDA Rural Development continues to work with rural communities to help them develop quality health care services, modern library facilities and school buildings, and reliable first responder equipment and services to ensure that people who live in rural areas have access to critical infrastructure.”
Through the years, Rural Development’s Community Facilities Program has been a vital funding source for many rural communities. For example, in 2010, Rural Development awarded $93 Million in Community Facilities loans and grants to rural areas throughout Pennsylvania.
Through its Rural Development mission area, USDA administers and manages more than 40 housing, business and community infrastructure and facility programs through a network of approximately 110 employees located in 11 offices throughout Pennsylvania. These programs are designed to improve the economic stability of rural communities, businesses, residents, farmers, and ranchers and improve the quality of life in rural America.
