USDA Rural Development Celebrates Milestone Anniversary of

Parkview Homes Company in Otho

Apartment Complex Opened in 1976

OTHO, Iowa – June 22, 2011 – Karla McKibban with USDA Rural Development was in Otho today to recognize Parkview Homes Company for providing quality housing services to residents in Otho for 35 years.

“It’s with great pleasure that we recognize Parkview Homes Company for doing such an outstanding job,” said Bill Menner, USDA Rural Development State Director in Iowa. “The nonprofit corporation is dedicated to ensuring all building requirements and residents’ overall safety and security needs are being met.”

Parkview Homes Company was constructed in 1976 and now offers a total of 24 one- and two-bedroom apartments to elderly residents in Otho.

Parkview Homes Company is professionally managed by Bill Murphy of Algona. Local site managers are Pete and Mary Jane Stringer and the current board president is Alice Smith-Watters of Fort Dodge.

USDA Rural Development currently provides financing for 500 multi-family housing projects in rural Iowa. These facilities provide rural Iowans with access to more than 9,600 apartments. Rent in the apartments is based on income and rent assistance from the government is available depending on the income of the tenant.
