Morgantown, WV, Jul 01, 2011 -- State Director Bobby Lewis announces that USDA Rural Development approved a Rural Business Enterprise Grant in the amount of $98,750 for Center for Economic Options, Inc., Kanawha County, WV.
Rural Development funds will be used to help provide technical assistance for the expansion of sustainable, local food-sector businesses primarily in the West Virginia counties of Braxton, Calhoun, Clay, Gilmer and Webster.
“This project is expected to create 20 jobs and assist 45 businesses,” added Lewis. “This is one more project that helps us meet our mission – To Increase Economic Opportunity and Improve the Quality of Life for all Rural Americans.”
Rural Development serves as the lead Federal entity for rural development needs and administers program assistance through its housing, business, community and infrastructure programs.
