USDA RURAL DEVLOPMENT APPROVES FUNDING FOR THE WYOMING WOMEN’S BUSINESS CENTER

Laramie, WY – USDA Rural Development in Wyoming has awarded $200,000 in loan funds along with a $50,000 grant to the Wyoming Women’s Business Center (WWBC) under the Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program (RMAP). The funds will enhance the capability of WWBC to provide low interest loans as well as technical assistance and training to rural microentrepreneurs and rural microenterprises throughout rural communities of Wyoming.

The purpose of Rural Development’s RMAP program is to support the development and ongoing success of rural microentrepreneurs and microenterprises. Direct loans and grants are made to selected Microenterprise Development Organizations (MDOs). RMAP funding may be used to provide fixed interest rate microloans to rural microentrepreneurs for startup and growing microenterprises.

According to Derrel Carruth, State Director “This is an excellent opportunity for Rural Development funds to assist small business owners in this time of economic recovery. The small businesses in the surrounding counties will benefit from the assistance provided.”
