LARAMIE, WY – December 7, 2010. USDA, Rural Development announced the approval of a Business and Industry Guaranteed Loan to construct a new daycare facility, Aaron’s Place. The new facility will be located in Laramie and will be operated by Nighthawk Properties, LLC. Kerry J. Greaser and Janice Lawrence received a guaranteed business and industry loan in the amount of $550,000 to assist with construction of the facility, purchase of furniture, playground and kitchen equipment. A subsequent guaranteed business and industry loan in the amount of $200,000 will provide start-up and operating dollars for the facility.

The new daycare will be operated by Kerry Greaser and Janice Lawrence who have been the owners of Basic Beginnings since its opening in 1983.

The loan was awarded through USDA Rural Development’s Business and Industry Guaranteed Program. Under this program, loans are guaranteed through eligible local lenders to businesses to benefit rural areas. The program’s primary purpose is to create and maintain employment and improve the economic and environmental climate in rural communities. Any legal entity, including individuals, public and private organizations and federally recognized Indian tribes may utilize this program.

According to Rural Development’s State Director, Derrel Carruth, “We are so pleased that we have been able to assist the center in constructing a daycare and getting their business operational. This is great news for the citizens of Laramie where there are waiting lists for children to receive quality daycare.”
