Dunning, Nebraska, Aug 05, 2011 -- USDA Rural Development has announced funding of $833,000 to the Village of Dunning for wastewater improvements.
“USDA Rural Development is pleased to assist the Village of Dunning with their sewer improvement project. Strong infrastructure is needed to grow and sustain our rural communities,” said Nebraska State Director Maxine Moul, USDA Rural Development.
Funds will be used to repair wastewater collection system defects including broken and cracked mains. Wastewater lift station pumps, motors and controls will be replaced and a new wastewater lagoon will be constructed. Water meters will also be installed.
“Dunning’s sanitary sewer improvement project will bring the Village back into compliance with the Clean Water Act. This project will provide for a healthier environment,” said Area Specialist Roberta Mues, USDA Rural Development.
The USDA Rural Development $270,000 loan and $563,000 grant were provided through the USDA Rural Development Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program.
