@@At a media celebration on October 4, 2011 Anita J. (Janie) Dunning, Missouri State Director, USDA Rural Development presented the City of Osceola with a certificate of congratulations upon receipt of $6,150 for the city to purchase a printer/scanner/copier, computers, and a shredder. The funding consisted of a Grant from USDA Rural Development’s Community Facilities Program.. In addition, the City of Osceola contributed $2,050 towards the total cost of $8,200 for the equipment. This purchase will enhance the city’s ability to conduct business. Osceola, located in St. Clair County, is the county seat and has a population of 835 people.
“This $6,150 Community Facility Grant will be of great benefit to the City of Osceola which will use the funds to buy much needed computers, printers and other office equipment for the Osceola City Hall. I am pleased that these Rural Development funds will be put to such good use,” said U.S. Representative Vicky Hartzler.
“This is a great partnership effort when everyone works together for a common goal of meeting the needs of a community in providing essential office equipment,” said Dunning. “This project mirrors USDA Rural Development’s mission of being committed to the future of rural communities. I want to personally thank everyone that has worked together to make this project a reality. I am pleased that the residents of Osceola will have the benefit of up-to-date, reliable office equipment. Special thanks are extended to our federal elected officials for making available the federal funds for these kinds of projects.”
