Expanded Healthcare Opportunities in Northwest Iowa

Rock Rapids, Nov 22, 2011 -- USDA Rural Development today participated in open house ceremonies at Lyon County Chiropractic in Rock Rapids

“We congratulate Lyon County Chiropractic on moving to their new location and wish them all the best as they continue to work hard to improve healthcare opportunities in northwest Iowa,” said Bill Menner, USDA Rural Development State Director in Iowa. “At USDA we understand that having access to quality healthcare options is a key component to the future of rural America.”

USDA Rural Development recently provided Rock Rapids Municipal Utilities with a $300,000 Rural Economic Development Grant. Rock Rapids Municipal Utilities then provided a $360,000 no-interest loan to Rock Rapids Community Affairs Corporation who sold the building on contract to Lyon County Chiropractic.

Lyon County Chiropractic, which moved to their new facility in the fall of 2011, offers chiropractic services and acupuncture treatments. For more information about their services please visit www.lyoncountychiropractic.com.

This past year USDA Rural Development’s investment in Iowa helped create or retain more than 1,900 jobs, aided 2,000 families in buying their own homes and assisted more than 80 communities as they made improvements to their facilities, services and infrastructure.
