@@USDA Rural Development Nebraska Community Programs Director Denise Meeks and staff attended today’s grand opening for Gothenburg Memorial Hospital, Inc.’s new $3.4 million physician’s clinic. USDA Rural Development provided a $2.5 million direct loan and also issued a guarantee on a $500,000 loan made by the Gothenburg State Bank. The loans were leveraged with $352,000 from Gothenburg Memorial Hospital, Inc. and $50,000 from the hospital’s foundation.
“Health care is important to USDA Rural Development and the Nebraska citizens it serves,” said Meeks. Facilities, such as this great clinic, are valuable assets that support the communities far into the future.
“Gothenburg Memorial Hospital is dedicated to the future of healthcare. This new clinic will help us to achieve that goal by being able to recruit new physicians to the Gothenburg Community,” said COO, Assistant Administrator, Kayleen Dudley, Gothenburg Memorial Hospital, Inc.
“Gothenburg’s medical community can be proud of the services they are able to provide. The community’s proactive approach to medical care is showcased by this wonderful building,” said First Vice President Mike Hilderbrand, Gothenburg State Bank.
The new clinic was constructed at the site of the existing hospital. It consists of 13,047 square feet on the first floor and 3,252 square feet in the basement. The new facility is planned to accommodate eight physicians and will house 21 exam rooms and an office for each of the physicians.
The USDA Rural Development direct loan will be for 40 years at 3 3/4 percent interest and was funded through the Community Facility Direct loan program. The loan guarantee was provided through the USDA Rural Development Community Facility Guaranteed loan program.
