Des Moines, Iowa, Mar 12, 2012 -- Bill Menner, USDA Rural Development State Director in Iowa, today announced that Nateria Dickey has been selected as a participant in the 2012 Spring GovLoop Mentors Program. Dickey was one of just 100 government employees selected nationwide for the program, and the only Iowan.
The GovLoop Mentors Program is a government-wide initiative that connects public sector professionals across agencies at every level including federal, state and local governments.
Dickey chose Dianne Sutton as her mentor. Sutton is the owner of Sutton Enterprises, a human resources and consulting firm. Sutton has also authored two books, “Workplace Etiquette: A Guide to Thriving and Surviving in Today’s Workplace” and “Recovering Your Lost Self from Adversity.”
Sutton worked for the USDA prior to starting her own business.
“I am pleased that Nateria was selected to participate in this national mentoring program,” Menner said. “Working with someone such as Diane Sutton is a tremendous opportunity for Nateria. A strong mentor relationship can have a career-long impact.”
Dickey is a housing specialist in USDA Rural Development’s Humboldt office. She works with homeowners in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Humboldt, Kossuth, Story, Webster, Winnebago and Wright Counties.
A kick-off event for the 2012 Spring GovLoop Mentors program was held on March 9th.
