(APRIL 18, 2012) USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROVIDES FUNDING TO THE CITY OF BOONVILLE TO INSTALL A SIDEWALK FOR BUSINESS DISTRICT
Boonville, Apr 18, 2012 --

@@In a ceremony on April 18, 2012, Kelly Gregory, Missouri Area III Director for USDA Rural Development, announced funding to install a sidewalk to join two shopping districts in the City of Boonville. The assistance consists of $57,700 from Rural Development’s Rural Business Enterprise Grant program (RBEG), which provides funds to units of local government for projects which benefit small and emerging businesses in rural areas. The city contributed $23,792 toward the total cost of $81,492.

“We are pleased to provide this assistance to the City of Boonville,” said Anita “Janie” Dunning, Missouri State Director for USDA Rural Development. “Access to public infrastructure is important to small businesses in our rural Missouri communities, and the new sidewalk project is a great example of the partnership between the city and USDA to support business development.” Dunning also expressed appreciation to Missouri’s elected Congressional representatives.

“I’m thrilled the Boonville community was able to secure the necessary resources for improvements to attract more business, and more jobs,” said U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill. “To keep the economic recovery moving in the right direction, its crucial our businesses have the tools they need to thrive—and that’s what this investment is all about.”
