Borrowers interested in Rural Development Home Loans Can Review Eligibility

(CARSON CITY –May 1, 2012) – During its Tonopah Showcase on May 22, USDA Rural Development (USDA RD) will provide information about affordable home loans. The direct and guaranteed home loan programs provide low interest loans for low-income rural home buyers, at affordable rates. Rural Development housing staff will be on hand from 1-3 p.m. at the Convention Center to answer questions, determine the eligibility of prospective borrowers and distribute applications to those who wish to apply.

USDA will be in Tonopah to showcase funded activities. This is an opportunity for the community to come out and review the progress that has been made to date on USDA RD funded projects, and discuss future plans for the Belvada Hotel and improvements planned for the convention center. The Town of Tonopah is also working to complete water system improvements and arsensic mitigation. Affordable housing is one of the program areas to be highlighted.

USDA’s Tonopah Showcase event will be held Tuesday, May 22 at 1:00 p.m., starting at the lot between the Belvada and the Convention Center, and moving to the Belvada and Convention Center for presentations, displays and refreshments. The public is invited to attend.
