BISMARCK, ND, Jun 18, 2012 -- Jasper Schneider, USDA Rural Development, and Dr. Richard Rathge, NDSU, announced today the release of the North Dakota 2.0 report, The Next Chapter. The document focuses on the future of North Dakota and is the result of a year-long effort engaging individuals in discussion.
More than 600 people attended 14 regional meetings. Their feedback is presented in the report and provides the basis for eight recommendations. The topics include: infrastructure, housing, transparency, leadership development, budget surpluses, health care, child care, and boldly investing in the future.
The North Dakota 2.0 initiative was created to gather ideas from people for guidance on issues important to them and exploring ways to build a better state. With an economy that is prospering, this is a crucial time to capitalize on opportunities while addressing the state’s needs.
