(JUNE 21, 2012) USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT CELEBRATES NATIONAL HOME OWNERSHIP MONTH IN HARTVILLE
Rural Development assists with new heating and cooling unit
Hartville, MO, Jun 21, 2012 --

@@Nancy Heiman moved to the Hartville area about 9 years ago, after retiring from being a secretary on a ranch in Kansas. Ms. Heiman says she loves living in the Hartville area, but the summers here in the Ozarks can be sweltering. When her old heating and cooling system quit working, she contacted Rural Development to apply for funding to purchase a new system.

Rural Development offers two programs to assist homeowners with repairs to their dwellings – loans and grants. Most common types of repairs include new furnace installation, roof replacement, siding replacement, sanitary water and waste systems, update wiring, window replacement, wheelchair ramps and accessibility items to persons with disabilities.

USDA Rural Development invests in people, families, businesses, and communities. Rural Development is striving to continue to serve rural Missourians’ housing needs – in both homeownership and home repair.

USDA Rural Development’s mission is to increase economic opportunity and improve the quality of life for rural residents. Rural Development fosters growth in homeownership, finances business development, and supports the creation of critical community and technology infrastructure. Anyone interested in obtaining information regarding the Rural Development rural housing programs or any other assistance available through USDA Rural Development may visit the homepage at http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/mo/ or can contact Karla Frey, Rural Development Specialist or Melanie Stewart, Rural Development Technician, at the Houston Sub Area Office of USDA Rural Development at 6726 S Hwy 63 in Houston or by calling (417) 967-2028, ext. 4.
