(JULY 3, 2012) VILLAGE OF BELLWOOD TO BUILD TREATMENT PLANT

Bellwood, Nebraska, Jul 03, 2012 -- USDA Rural Development has awarded the Village of Bellwood $1,649,000 to build a water treatment plant for the Village which is dealing with arsenic in its water.

"The Village of Bellwood would like to thank the USDA Rural Development for all the hard work in getting us this funding package so we can move forward in getting our water treatment plant built. This award will allow us to provide safe drinking water to the Village," said Matthew Gangwish, Village of Bellwood.

“USDA Rural Development is pleased to assist in this project,” said Nebraska State Director Maxine Moul, USDA Rural Development. “Quality drinking water is something that many of us take for granted. I am pleased that the community will soon have safe and clean water to drink.”

USDA funding was provided through the USDA Rural Development Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program. For additional information contact Janice Stopak at Janice.stopak@ne.usda.gov or phone (402) 423-9683 Ext. 121. Visit http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/ne/.
