(JULY 20, 2012) CITY OF CRETE TO BUILD NEW TREATMENT PLANT

Crete, Nebraska, Jul 20, 2012 -- USDA Rural Development has awarded the City of Crete nearly $8.7 million to build a new treatment plant for the City’s sewer system.

"This is a need for the City, not a want. It comes at a point in time when low cost funding is available for us to make the best use of City funds," said Mayor Roger Foster, City of Crete.

“USDA Rural Development is pleased to assist the City of Crete with its infrastructure needs,” said Nebraska State Director Maxine Moul, USDA Rural Development. “The treatment plant will serve the City for years to come.”

USDA funding was provided through the USDA Rural Development Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program. For additional information contact Janice Stopak at Janice.stopak@ne.usda.gov or phone (402) 423-9683 Ext. 121. Visit http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/ne/.
