(AUGUST 1, 2012) HURON RESIDENT PAT HEMEN SELECTED TO SERVE IN LEADERSHIP CAPACITY

Huron, SD, Aug 01, 2012 -- Pat Hemen, Community Program Specialist for USDA Rural Development has been selected to serve in an important leadership capacity during the coming year. He has been selected to serve as the National Association of Credit Specialists (NACS), Zone B representative for the Legislative Committee. Mr. Hemen’s selection will require him, if determined necessary by the NACS Board, to carry NACS concerns to the National Office and to participate in the NACS Zone B meeting and the Annual Meeting next year.

NACS is a consultative employee association, organized in 1973, whose purpose is to initiate and promote improvements in the delivery system of Rural Development programs and services to Rural America.

USDA, through its Rural Development mission area, administers and manages housing, business and community infrastructure and facility programs through a national network of state and local offices. Rural Development has an active portfolio of more than $170 billion in loans and loan guarantees. These programs are designed to improve the economic stability of rural communities, businesses, residents, farmers and ranchers and improve the quality of life in rural areas.
