Prosser, Nebraska, Sep 07, 2012 -- USDA Rural Development has awarded a $20,000 pre development planning grant to the Village of Prosser to complete a study regarding the Village’s rising nitrate levels in its public water system. The Village is contributing $7,000 towards the study.
“Quality drinking water is important to the health and well being of all,” said Area Specialist Roberta Mues, USDA Rural Development. “The study will help the Village in addressing the rising nitrate levels presently in its water.”
“The board is trying to stay ahead of any serious water problems. We need and want quality water for all our village patrons. Hopefully we can find a good solution,” said Chairperson Janine Ruhter, Village of Prosser.
