USDA Announces Groundbreaking for Jonesfield Township Fire Station
EAST LANSING, Nov. 28, 2012 – U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Rural Development State Director for Michigan James J. Turner today announced a groundbreaking ceremony for Jonesfield Township’s new main fire station at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3 at 204 W. Mahoney Street, in Merrill.
The ceremony is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.
The agency is providing a $1,395,000 Community Facility loan to fund the project.
USDA Rural Development State Director for Michigan James J. Turner was appointed by President Barack Obama in 2009. USDA, through its Rural Development mission area, administers and manages housing, business and community infrastructure programs through a national network of state and local offices. These programs are designed to improve the economic stability of rural communities, businesses, residents, farmers and ranchers and improve the quality of life in rural America.
