Morgantown, WV, Feb 12, 2013 -- State Director Bobby Lewis announced that USDA Rural Development approved a Water and Waste Disposal Loan of $2,454,000 to Tri-County Water Association, Taylor County, WV.
Rural Development funds will be used to extend water service to approximately 60 new customers within rural Marion, Harrison and Taylor Counties. The project will also involve the replacement of existing waterlines, the addition of fire protection, and the installation of new computerized equipment.
"This project is needed to ensure a safe and reliable source of water for additional residents as well as to perform necessary upgrades to the existing system," added Lewis.
Rural Development serves as the lead Federal entity for rural development needs and administers program assistance through its housing, business, community and infrastructure programs.
