Kearney, Nebraska, Mar 22, 2013 -- “It is with great pride that I announce David Willis as our first recipient of the USDA Rural Development Heartland Award,” said State Director Maxine Moul, USDA Rural Development. Willis is the Multi Family Housing Specialist in the Kearney USDA Rural Developent office.
“We have named this the Heartland Award because the employees who will be recognized are at the Heart of our Team at USDA Rural Development,” said Moul.
The Heartland Award is given monthly through nominations submitted by employees for actions that go above and beyond the call of an employee’s duty. The state RD management team reviews the nominations and selects the winner. A traveling trophy will be given to the winner selected each month.
“Willis assisted a fellow employee with carrying on a Specialist’s duties while she was on maternity leave. This is an excellent illustration of the effort of teamwork,” said Moul.
David Willis joined Rural Development in April of 2009 and is responsible for all the Multi-Family Housing Programs including farm labor housing within his 38 county region. He has been a real estate and lending professional for over 25 years. David is a graduate of the School of Mortgage Banking, and holds a BA from the University of Idaho.
