(MARCH 13, 2013) WALNUT GROVE COMPLEX AND BELL MANAGEMENT RECOGNIZED BY RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Walnut Grove, MO, Mar 13, 2013 -- Rural Development State Director Anita J. (Janie) Dunning today recognized two (2) housing partners. Ms. Dunning presented certificates to Walnut Grove Senior Citizens Housing and Bell Management, Incorporated as acknowledgement of their valued partnerships.

"The majority of us take housing for granted. We have a roof over our heads and a place to lay our bodies to sleep, but some individuals and families in our county do not have the same experience,” Dunning said. “Complexes, such as Walnut Grove Senior Citizen Housing, and management companies, like Bell Management, are assuring facilities are available in rural communities to respond to the need for decent, safe and affordable housing. Rural Development applauds their commitment and efforts."

Walnut Grove Senior Citizens Housing is a non-profit established in 1982. The Board of Directors sought and received a loan of $230,000 to construct the apartments. Construction of the complex was completed in August 1982. The complex has 12 one bedroom units and a community room.

U.S. Senator Roy Blunt commented, “The Walnut Grove Senior Citizens Housing Board of Directors plays a vital role in improving the quality of life for area residents, and I applaud this team for their commitment to building a stronger community.”

U.S. Congressman Billy Long stated, “I want to say how proud I am of the Walnut Grove Senior Citizen Housing Board of Directors and Bell Management for the good work they do in helping residents in Southwest Missouri. Keep up the good work!”

“The Walnut Grove Senior Citizen’s Housing is a wonderful organization that provides top-quality care for seniors in our area,” said Missouri State Senator Jay Wasson. “The work they do is commendable, and of the utmost importance. I’m grateful to see them recognized for their accomplishments, and congratulate them on being a model home for other senior housing organizations across the state.”

Bell Management, Incorporated has been a partner with Rural Development since 1986. The company has been active in both managing and owning Rural Development financed and administered properties. Bell Management, Incorporated’s parent company owns 22 Rural Development financed properties and contracts for management of 35 properties. These 57 properties include both elderly and family complexes.
