New Fell Charter School Slated to Open for 2013-14 School Year
SIMPSON, PA, May 7, 2013 – USDA Rural Development State Director Thomas Williams joined Mary Jo Walsh, Fell Charter School Principal, on a construction walk-thru of the new Fell Charter School today. Fell Charter School received a $6.5 million Rural Development Community Facility Direct Loan in 2012, providing long-term, fixed rate financing for the construction of a new two-story school with the capacity of accommodating 225 students (kindergarten to eighth grade) located on 6.5 acres at 777 Main Street, Simpson. Construction has been moving along as planned and the new Fell Charter School plans to open the doors to students for the 2013-14 school year.
According to Williams “This is a great example of how the federal government is investing in the education of Pennsylvania’s rural youth.”
