|VILLAGE OF UEHLING GETS UPDATED LAGOON SYSTEM|
|, May 10, 2013
The Village of Uehling needed to update their lagoon system in order to stay in compliance with the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality regulations.
USDA Rural Development assisted with a loan for $742,000 and grant for $976,000. The total cost of the project was estimated to be more than $1.7 million.
The USDA funding helped construct a new sewer system of three lagoons, with a lift station and a center pivot irrigation system for the land application. To date, the Village of Uehling’s system is up and running with no issues. The upgrades have helped meet current standards of treatment and discharge and are in compliance with all state regulations. The system is no longer antiquated. This project has helped the Village maintain a good quality of life in rural Nebraska with the availability of an affordable wastewater/sewer system.
