(JULY 16, 2013) USDA PROVIDES GRANT FOR BUSINESS TRAINING
BISMARCK, ND, Jul 16, 2013 --

@@Jasper Schneider, USDA Rural Development state director, announced today that the Center for Technology & Business (CTB) will receive a $25,000 grant to offer business development training in southwest North Dakota.

“The grant will help provide development and leadership services that often are not readily available to businesses in rural areas,” said Schneider. “These services go a long way in helping small business owners succeed.”

Through the Business Technology Acceleration Program, the CTB will use the USDA grant to provide training on modern business and technology tools for maintaining and growing a successful business. The six month program will focus on topics including: blogging, mobile business applications, social media for business, mobile point of sales systems, understanding the Cloud, and online reputation management.

The funding was provided through the USDA Rural Business Opportunity Grant (RBOG) program, which focuses on business expansion and job creation. Since 2009, the RBOG program has invested more than $890,000 in North Dakota. For more information on USDA programs, please call (701) 530-2037 or visit www.rurdev.usda.gov/nd.
