Washington, Oct 19, 2013 -- Changes to the map of eligible areas for RD home loan programs based on 2010 Census data were scheduled to take effect Oct. 1. However, passage of the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2014, has postponed the implementation date to Jan, 15 2014.

To view the new maps go to http://eligibility.sc.egov.usda.gov and select "Future Eligible Areas" on the left menu.

NOTE: Complete applications received before January 15, 2014, will continue to use rural area definitions based on 2000 Census data.

For details, or questions about specific changes in your state, please contact your local USDA Rural Development Service Center.
