Davis, Calif., Aug 30, 2013 -- Barring any Congressional actions, implementation of the 2010 Census Data is scheduled to take effect Oct. 1, 2013. This data will modify some of the eligible areas for USDA Rural Development's housing programs.
New eligibility maps can be viewed on the USDA Eligibility website at http://eligibility.sc.egov.usda.gov/ under "Future Eligible Areas." Nearly 100 of California's communities will be determined ineligible once the 2010 Census Data is implemented. A complete list of the state's impacted communities is available here.
In accordance with Administrative Notice 4711, complete loan applications received by USDA Rural Development on or before Sept. 30, 2013 will not be subject to the new rural area designations.
