@@USDA Rural Development has awarded $10,200 to the Nuckolls County Agricultural Society, Inc. Leveraged funding of $19,130 will be provided by the Society. The funds will be used to replace wooden bleachers that are currently in the arena and to replace the leaking roof at the 4-H building.

Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack noted that funding announcements like these are another reminder of the importance of USDA programs for rural America.  A comprehensive new Food, Farm and Jobs Bill would further expand the rural economy.  He said that's just one reason why Congress must get a comprehensive Food, Farm and Jobs Bill done as soon as possible.

“Rural Development is pleased to assist the Nuckolls County Agricultural Society, Inc. to make needed improvements to their community infrastructure,” said Community Programs Specialist Janice Stopak, USDA Rural Development.

USDA Rural Development funds were provided through its Community Facility Grant program. For more information contact Janice Stopak at (402) 423-9683 or Visit

President Obama’s plan for rural America has brought about historic investment and resulted in stronger rural communities. Under the President’s leadership, these investments in housing, community facilities, businesses and infrastructure have empowered rural America to continue leading the way – strengthening America’s economy, small towns and rural communities. USDA’s investments in rural communities support the rural way of life that stands as the backbone of our American values.
