BRYANT PARKVIEW APARTMENTS MAKES IMPROVEMENTS TO RENTAL UNITS
Feb 07, 2014 --

Bryant Parkview Apartments is an elderly project with eight-one bedroom apartments. The project has seen little improvement in its 32 years. The windows and exterior entrance doors were deteriorated causing heat loss in the winter and increased air conditioning costs during the summer. The kitchens had limited space with outdated countertops and sinks; and the bathrooms had the original fixtures and in poor
shape.

The entire project has been renovated including roofing, siding, plumbing, electrical, flooring, windows, appliances, and handicap accessibility.

USDA Rural Development provided Multi-Family Housing loan funds in the amount of $352,107 and grant funds of $7,678 for the repair/renovation of this project.

“This is a great example of the federal government supporting local efforts,” said USDA Rural
Development State Director Elsie Meeks.  She continued, “I am sure that the current residents and future residents will appreciate the beauty and benefits this renovation brings. Congratulations to all who have provided leadership on this effort!”

“We are very fortunate to be able to have completely renovated these apartments. They are brand new meeting new energy efficient requirements and handicap accessibility guidelines. They will be an asset to this rural community of 350. There were many people involved in this project and it was a joint effort of all involved that we are celebrating the completion of this project. We are proud to have them as part of our Parkview Campus,” said Nell Rust, Property Manager.
